"Game On" For Stones As Tour Begins
Monday August 22, 2005
The Rolling Stones' North American tour is now in its second week after what is generally considered to be a successful start. Associated Press reviewer Bob Salsberg observes that "[T]he Stones may have lost a little off their fastball. But like a veteran pitcher who makes up for it with great location and command of his pitches, the Stones more than compensate with great timing and an uncanny ability to connect with their audience." Now, it's 41 more shows in 36 more cities to go, in the midst of which the group's A Bigger Bang album will come out (September 6) two days before they perform on a prime time ABC special. Not bad for a bunch of guys who hit their first licks together more than 40 years ago!Further Reading: September New Releases
