With the exception of the occasional documentary like Woodstock, there isn't much of a history of rock-oriented movies winning Academy Awards. Nonetheless, the Classic Rock era saw several attempts at rock movies, with plots, that were something more than a collection of concert, interview and behind-the-scenes footage.
