2006 Rock Hall Inductee Spotlight: Herb Alpert & Jerry Moss
Starting with nothing more than a few hundred dollars and a vision, Herb Alpert and Jerry Moss built what would become one of the most successful independent record labels in history. A&M Records had a major impact on classic rock music, with a stable of artists that included Procol Harum, Free, Peter Frampton, Supertramp, The Police and Captain Beefheart.
Alpert and Moss are the recipients of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame’s Lifetime Achievement Award in the non-performer category.
