Skynyrd In Spandex

- There was Ozzy Osbourne smiling as he held up his induction "trophy" statue. Yes, the same Ozzy who dubbed Black Sabbath's nomination for induction as "meaningless" a few years ago.
- There was Rolling Stone magazine and Rock Hall founder, Jann Wenner, reading aloud the "we're not your monkeys and so what?" letter from the Sex Pistols' John Lydon (Johnny Rotten) to the Hall of Fame.
- There was Lynyrd Skynyrd making Hollywood shiver: "We're making a movie, but it's going to be like Chicago, where we sing and dance and wear spandex."
Not Tonight, Guys
Nigel Harrison and Frank Infante weren't invited when Blondie reunited in 1999. The resulting rift continued at the induction ceremony, where Harrison and Infante publicly complained that they weren't being allowed to perform with the rest of the band. Debbie Harry's terse response to their plea to let them play: "Not tonight, guys."

Blondie's Gary Valentine: "I'd like to thank my mother and father for putting me on the road to rock and roll by throwing me out of their house."
Metallica's Lars Ulrich: "When you say Heavy Metal, you might as well
say, 'Music derivative of Black Sabbath.'"
Herb Alpert, on his favorite A&M album: "If it hadn't been for The Lonely Bull, we both would have been pretty lonely."
Ozzy Osbourne: "&@***&$!" (About Entertainment Editor Claire Campbell reports that Oz "is so hard of hearing he couldn't hear anyone's questions. Which is just as well, because everything that came out of his mouth had to be bleeped.")
