James Gang Rides Again, Again
Friday April 7, 2006
The "classic" lineup of the James Gang -- Joe Walsh, Dale Peters, Jim Fox -- will be touring this summer. Except for a few one-off performances (Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction, Bill Clinton campaign rally, Drew Carey Show) Walsh, Peters and Fox have mostly been "pursuing other interests" since the Gang broke up in 1976. The tour is scheduled to start August 9 in Denver. (Album cover image courtesy MCA)

Is Dale Peters going to play base for the tour?
It will be the “classic” lineup: Walsh on guitar, Fox on drums, Peters on bass.
I was really disapointed when they split up. Why DID they break up in the first place? They were awesome live!
Bill, for one thing, they had a lot of personnel turnover. The “classic” lineup of Walsh, Peters and Fox only lasted about three years. After that, some fairly heavy hitters like Tommy Bolin (Deep Purple) and Dominic Troiano (The Guess Who) came and went. Jimmy Fox was the only founding member of the band who was with the band throughout its existence.
