Sir Elton and The Bard

It was the Shakespeare character, Dick the Butcher who suggested (famously, as it turned out) "The first thing we do, let's kill all the lawyers." Had the character been Elton the Rocket Man, lawyers would have been replaced by photographers as the target of that suggestion.

In the middle of presenting an award to a young actor at the Cannes Film Festival, Elton John launched an f-word laden tirade against the photographers present, suggesting to them, "you should all be shot." The actor kept a stoic smile on his face as the outburst subsided and peace returned.

Add Sir Elton to the list (right next to Sir Paul) of high profile musicians who can't seem to handle the lives they chose (in the public eye) very well.

I believe if you listen carefully to what Sir Elton is saying, He is rebuking the attending photographers for making outbursts while he was trying to present the award. I’ve never been an Elton fan but, being a high school teacher, I understand totally how he felt.
