Boz Burrell: 1946-2006
One of the original members of Bad Company, Boz Burrell has died. The 60-year-old bassist suffered a heart attack at his home in Spain on September 21.Burrell was a bassist by accident. He signed on with King Crimson to do vocals, but when the band couldn't find a suitable bass player, guitarist Robert Fripp taught Burrell the instrument. In 1973 he got together with Free's Paul Rodgers and Simon Kirke, and Mott the Hoople's Mick Ralphs to form Bad Company.
A statement released by Atlantic Records -- parent company of Swan Song Records -- says, "We express our gratitude to Boz for his important contribution to Swan Song and to the music of his generation."

Farewell to Boz, a great musician and bandmate to many! Pity, he was a young man…visit http://www.krimson-news.com for more history on this fine Crimso vet! Cheers, Chuck
Farewell Boz! your in great(bad?)company up there. Rock on!
Boz definitely enters the Heavenly Rock Hall of Fame. G-d Bless his soul.
I knew Boz as a 17 year old lad just starting out with the Tea Time Four., in fact I probably booked them out on the longest run a semi pro band had enjoyed back in the 60’s.
When working for the Gunnell brothers I put Boz out with Jimmy Scott (Ob-la-di Ob-la-da fame) with a brass and sax lineup into the Bag’o'Nails guys sitting playing Harry South arrangements.
I will miss the lad a great deal more than just a few fans. God bless you old lad.
