Van Halen Tour Future Uncertain

Even as the February 2 announcement of a 40-show North American tour continues to greet visitors to the Van Halen Web site, there are reports that the tour is being "indefinitely postponed" (translation: cancelled) before ever getting off the ground.

According to a report from Pollstar that announcement from Eddie Van Halen didn't constitute an "official announcement" and cites sources close to the band as saying that while it was never officially announced, it is officially being called off.

Given VH's notorious bickering and the volatile personalities of some of its members, the announcement that there would be a tour was much more surprising than the announcement that there wouldn't.

Eddie and Alex Van Halen were to have performed with original lead vocalist David Lee Roth and Eddie's son, Wolfgang on bass. VH last toured, in 2004, with Roth's replacement, Sammy Hagar, and the band's original bassist, Michael Anthony.

The Van Halen brothers, Roth, Hagar and Anthony will be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on March 12, the only apparent reunion we're likely to see anytime soon.

You know Mike, if all the very latest statements that have recently transpired are accurate, i.e. That the VH organization never really made an “official” statement that the band with DLR have reformed – Read the latest stuff at Pollstar. – then you know what? Maybe it could be on the cards that the band have reformed in some shape or form & that Ed & Alex are letting Wolfie jam / rehearse with them, until they announce “officially” that Van Halen has “officially” reformed!
Who knows huh?
I personally think it’s Eddies way of insulting Mike Anthony for going off to jam / tour with Sammy.
I’m sure they’ll be more said in the next week or so ….
