When Eagles Meet Chicks
Okay, no, this isn't the setup for a joke. What do you get when you combine (The) Eagles with (The Dixie) Chicks?
You get what should be quite a pair of concerts at Nokia Theatre L.A. Live in Los Angeles on October 18 and 20. The Chicks will open both shows, as the Eagles hit the road in support of their first new studio album since 1979. Long Road Out Of Eden is due for release in late October.
The concerts are two of only six Eagles dates that are scheduled at the moment. Since their 1980 breakup, the Eagles have performed together sporadically. They released a live album, When Hell Freezes Over in 1994.
Of the upcoming new release, Don Henley tells Rolling Stone, "They say everything in life is a matter of timing, and the time seems right for us to do this."
The band has been recording tracks for the album over the past several years. It will be available only from Wal-Mart for the first year after its release.

The CD will only be available from Walmart? The company that treats its’ workers like crap? Sounds like the group has sold out to me!
Hey Bob!
To quote the Eagles; GET OVER IT!
hey hank…..looks like you’ve sold too!
You know guys, I heard that this was the same case with REO Speedwagon, but it seems now, that this is NOT the case.
Their latest release was indeed, INITIALLY only available through Walmart, but then it started showing up all over the place ….
I’m sure this will most likely work the same way …..
Funny that certain acts are doing this though as to Joe Public, it will certainly restrict their sales as certain individuals most likely will NOT want to make an odd trip to Walmart, just for a CD ….
Collective Soul have apparently done the same thing with Target ….., why?!
Alun
Heah folks, ole Garth Brooks had his latest CD sold only through Walmart; then open in other stores. Get a grip.
