Can I Get a Little Help! Here?
So, there's this band, see, and the drummer wears a lot of rings but one day he gets one stuck on his finger. And he can't get it off. Then he and the rest of the guys in the band get chased from London to the Bahamas by way of the Alps by the police, a mad scientist, and some members of a religious cult.
How about it? Great move plot, huh? Okay, so maybe my synopsis doesn't quite do it justice, but Beatles fans will recognize the plot line of Help! in spite of that.
The Beatles' second movie, released in theaters in 1965, is being released on DVD (finally) next month. In addition to containing some classic tracks ("You're Going To Lose That Girl," "You've Got To Hide Your Love Away," "Ticket To Ride," "I Need You," "The Night Before," "Another Girl" and, of course, "Help!") the film actually is a fairly well written, well acted comedic farce.
You can get your hands on it October 30. For now, you can watch the trailer and reminisce about who you were with the first time you watched it.
