Stephen Stills - Prognosis Positive

Friday January 4, 2008

The news is good. Stephen Stills (Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young) underwent successful surgery for prostate cancer yesterday (01/03) and will probably be home by the time you read this.

Stills' wife Kristen issued a statement in which she said that "the procedure went remarkably well and he couldn't be better."

Stills, who turned 63 on the same day that he had surgery, has a North American tour planned for this spring, in support of his new Just Roll Tape album. He is also scheduled to attend the Sundance Film Festival later this month for the premiere of CSNY/Deja vu, a feature film (directed by Neil Young) about the band's 2006 tour.

Please feel free to add yours to the list of good thoughts and best wishes for Stills' recovery.

Hi,

I’m not sure if I’m talking to right person but I have a matter I wanted to speak to Steven’s management about. I’m buying a guitar that was once Steven’s guitar and I wanted to make sure the guitar wasn’t stolen from him as I know he has lost some instruments in the past. Danny Ferrington (guitar builder) in Compton, Ca. is a friend of mine. I spoke to him about this matter and he recommended I contact Steven’s management about it. It’s a quite expensive Gibson Les Paul gold top.
I am also writing to let Steven know I am a cancer survivor/guitarist/songwriter from Louisiana and I have been out of treatment for 5 years now. There is life after cancer and songs to be written and music to be played. One of my first albums was CSN. My religious aunt and uncle took it away from me. I bought it while visiting them in Ocean Springs Miss. on a summer visit. They thought it was the devil’s music. After I left their home, hurricane Cammile hit and put a tree through their house. A few weeks later I got the album in the mail from them in it’s original cover that had been wet and was covered with mold from the storm. It’s still one of my favorite albums of all time.
I’m a big fan and I’d love to own the guitar but not if it’s stolen from Steven.
Please get back to me.

Hello Steven thoughts of Hope…Faith…Love
are being sent to you from our hearts for your
recovery. The comment above I too agree is a great song ( Treetop Flyer). One night at the Buddha bar in Florida a good friend Tim who is a talent scout/survivor of the tragic Great White show handed me a cassette of your song and asked could I do it. I said
“yes if I can find a cassette player and hear it”.
So Justin at Armitage recording had a cassette player, but it was in his jeep. So off to his driveway *ric n Mitch with tuned guitars and Justin with his laptop proceeded to learn your song and then we recorded it at Armitage. I would like to send you our rendition of your song in an e mail. So from (Our House) to yours rest with (((LoVVE).
