Now this you've gotta see. Well, yes, and hear, too. I had to forcibly remove myself back to the here and now after losing track of time while poking around in my latest YouTube find, Ultracoolsixties.
The site is a well researched, well organized, and throughly engrossing collection of videos of the music that ranged from escapist to activist at a time when wars (cold and otherwise), assassinations and racial tensions defined us as a nation, and influenced the kids who were trying (pretty much unsuccessfully) to make sense of it all.
You know how they say that if you can remember the '60s, you weren't really there? I guarantee that if you were there and don't remember, you will after you spend a few minutes in the Ultracoolsixties.

Dave, It IS hard to break away from this sit. I’ll be going back for some flashbacks, often. Thanks for the site info.
Thanks for posting this — looks cool! Also be sure to check out the Technicolor Web of Sound for non-stop psychedelic tunes and ads from the ’60’s and beyond. (It’s also featured on iTunes radio). And let’s keep that freewheeling, experimental spirit alive to enrich today’s music and culture!
