You Gotta Be There

I'd like to publicly thank the makers of CDs, DVDs and digital downloads for enabling me to see and hear performances that are financially and/or geographically out of my reach.

Were it not for the wonders of modern technology, I would never have been able to experience Cream's reunion concert or Paul McCartney's most recent world tour.

That's all well and good, says my favorite classic rock humorist, Lynette Sheffield, but there are times when you'll miss the moment forever if you aren't there to experience it in person. Sometimes, you gotta be there.
