• 1971 - The fire at the Montreaux Casino in Switzerland that inspired Deep Purple's "Smoke On The Water"
• 1976 - The inflatable pig being photographed for the cover of Pink Floyd's Animals album comes loose from its moorings and floats over London, prompting a warning to pilots flying in the area
• 1979 - A stampede for seats at The Who's concert in Cincinnati results in 11 deaths
