Acoustic Progressive

Follow me on:

Greg Lake It's EL without P. One Palmer short of an Emerson Lake and Palmer. ELP Lite.

Actually, it'll be Keith Emerson and Greg Lake unplugged. You know, acoustic. "An intimate evening with Keith Emerson and Greg Lake, featuring the music of Emerson Lake and Palmer, the Nice and King Crimson," according to the announcement on Lake's website.

ELP in full will be reunited in the UK this summer, headlining the High Voltage Festival in July. Just ahead of that, Lake and Emerson will tune up with six confirmed U.S. dates (more are promised) in April.

Conclusion: for U.S. fans, two-thirds of an ELP reunion is way better than none. Or (to parody some classic ELP music) welcome back again, my friends, to the show that almost never ends.

I am already looking forward to the show at the Birchmere in Alexandria VA on April 6. An acoustic show will be quite different and I am looking forward to a unique experience. I am glad to see Keith and Greg apparently getting along so well!! Hopefully an ELP tour after the High Voltage Festival is in the works. Maybe ELP are the show that never ends!!!

Great! I hope you guys will share your thoughts with us after the concerts. I’m curious … not to mention a little envious!
