Having installed Benoit David as permanent replacement for lead vocalist Jon Anderson, Yes are in the studio recording a new album, their 20th, expected to be released in mid-2011. The band's last studio release was nearly ten years ago (Magnification in 2001.)
In addition to David, the current recording/touring lineup includes three longtime members: bassist Chris Squire, guitarist Steve Howe and drummer Alan White. This will be keyboardist Oliver Wakeman's first Yes album.
Yes and Anderson parted company after the longtime lead vocalist had to skip the band's 40th anniversary tour in 2008 due to respiratory problems. He is currently touring with former Yes keyboardist, Rick Wakeman.
The band's history has been marked by frequent turnover in personnel. Squire is the only member of the band who has been there since the beginning (1968) without interruption.
