Surviving members of Pink Floyd were all set for their second one-off reunion until drummer Nick Mason learned that the venue was to be the home of a wealthy socialite, with an audience comprised of other wealthy socialites.
Mason tells Classic Rock magazine, "That particular event wasn't right for a re-formation of Pink Floyd. I said I would do it, but it was a charity event for suits, and it felt wrong to turn a small thing into a big deal. Why play for a lot of posh totty [rough translation: hotties with a lot of bling] instead of some of the other things we should save that up for - a Live 8 type of thing?"
Live 8 was the scene (in 2005) of the last Pink Floyd reunion. It seems likely that there will be a reunion, for the right cause and in the right venue. Posh totty need not apply.
