Eddie Van Halen Eddie Van Halen is recovering from surgery, and will be for several months, so Van Halen's scheduled November Japan tour have been indefinitely postponed. EVH had what the VH website calls "a severe bout of diverticulitis" which, in layman's terms, is an intestinal condition that can be very painful and, well .. sickening. Bottom line, says the band's official statement, "the band looks forward to seeing and playing for their fans in 2013."

The Rolling Stones in the early 60s It looks like The Rolling Stones are shifting to a higher gear as they approach the end of the year that marks their 50th anniversary, with signs and portents of at least a few live gigs before the end of the year, and a few hours in the studio recording new songs. Reporting by Billboard and Rolling Stone suggest four shows in November, two in London and two in Brooklyn NY. Last week, band members got together in a Paris studio to record two new songs that will be included in an upcoming box set.
