Record Store Day and its attendant RSD-only releases get a lot of attention every April, but that doesn't seem to bother the artists who have new releases and reissues coming out this month.
Deep Purple seemed to enjoy teasing fans about their upcoming new album, not letting on what the title would be for a long time after announcing that it was on the way. They teased with a question mark, which found its way into the title when it was finally revealed. Now What?! is all new material, and if you're keeping track, note that is the 19th DP studio release. Listen to the two singles from the album that have been released so far, Hell To Pay and All the Time in the World. Release date April 30, 2013, available on CD, vinyl LP and MP3
Since 1970, not many years have gone by in which Todd Rundgren hasn't released a new studio album. His 22nd, State gets on that list this month. If you opt for the limited edition two-CD set, you'll also be getting a live performance in Amsterdam in 2012, where Rundgren was accompanied by a 52-piece orchestra. Release date April 9, 2013, available on CD, 2-CD limited edition digipak, and MP3
Iggy and The Stooges have been busy since their most recent reunion in 2003. In that time they're released six live albums, and two studio albums, the latest of which, Ready to Die is ready to be released this month. This will be the band's first studio album since the death of longtime lead guitarist Ron Asheton in 2009. Release date April 30, 2013, available on CD and vinyl LP
Detailed liner notes and rare photos accompany this two-CD collector's edition of Live At The Fillmore June 7, 1968. Release date April 9, 2013, available in two-CD digipak and MP3 formats
