You can name a lot of classic rock bands who disbanded after a short life due to personnel conflicts, the death of a key member, or the desire to pursue solo careers. Much rarer are the bands who have not only stayed together, but with the same basic core of people.
Blue Oyster Cult is one of the rare breed. With the exception of one brief hiatus, BOC have been in the rock business continuously since their formation in 1967.
