"If we don't kill each other first," Don Henley tells the crowd at a Las Vegas concert, the Eagles will be releasing their first new studio album in nearly 30 years within a matter of weeks.

According to the Las Vegas Review-Journal, Henley told the audience at a private show at MGM Grand Garden Arena on January 27 that the album would be "coming out in 60 to 90 days," subject to the aforementioned caveat about doing bodily harm to one another.

It has been a long time since The Long Run, the band's last studio album of all new music, released back in 1979. The last Eagles release of any kind, Hell Freezes Over coincided with the band's 1994 reunion following a 12 year breakup. That album, recorded for MTV, contained some of the Eagles' hits, and a smattering of new songs.

Founding members Henley and Glenn Frey, along with Joe Walsh and Timothy B. Schmit, have been touring off and on since reuniting in 1994.

Skynyrd and Bocephus

It will be called (be sure to notice the spelling) the Rowdy Frynds tour, and it will feature onetime touring partners Lynyrd Skynyrd and Hank Williams, Jr. beginning in April.

Billboard quotes Ross Schilling, who manages both acts, as saying, "Every one went, 'We need to go out and tour together again and have a good time.'" No doubt, they will, beginning April 11 in Huntsville, the first of 20 confirmed dates, primarily (go figure) in the South.
