"Velvet Redux: Live MCMXCIII" DVD

Velvet Underground

For a band that never had a lot of commercial success, Velvet Underground has commanded more than its share of attention from fans and other bands.

VU existed from 1965 until they disbanded in 1973. A 1992 reunion lasted two years. Although they released just six original albums, their influence on Punk and New Wave music was huge.

The band's original line-up of Lou Reed, John Cale, Sterling Morrison, and Moe Tucker is featured on Velvet Redux: Live MCMXCIII, the first ever release of the band on DVD. Performances are culled from the band's three-night stand at the Paris Olympia in June 1993. One of the songs on the DVD, "Coyote" is being released for the first time.
