Hard Rock

Definition: Generally shunned by mainstream audiences, this high energy rock form began to flourish in the late ‘70s after several years of obscurity. It later evolved into what became known as Heavy Metal.

Examples: Van Halen, Def Leppard, Deep Purple, Queen, Jimi Hendrix
