The Rising was the Boss' first album in seven years, and the first with the E Street Band in 18 years. Most of the songs were reflections on 9-11.
This album is regarded as the one that marked Springsteen's victorious return to prominence. In much the same way that Crosby Stills & Nash captured the mood and feelings of the '70s, this album is a snapshot of the world immediately after 9-11.
