1995: Rolling Stones "Voodoo Lounge"

The first GRAMMY for Best Rock Album went to the Rolling Stones. It was awarded in 1995 for their 1994 album Voodoo Lounge.

Voodoo Lounge was the first album recorded after the departure of bassist Bill Wyman, a founding member of the band. It was also the Stones' first release on Virgin Records. It reached #2 on the U.S. album chart and #1 in the U.K.
