To refresh your memory, Jim Messina became an original member of Poco after a stint with Buffalo Springfield. He was a producer for Columbia Records when he met songwriter Kenny Loggins, and the two began work on what was originally to have been Loggins' first solo album. As they worked on the album, Messina provided guitar and backup vocals. Ultimately, the album came out as Kenny Loggins with Jim Messina Sittin' In. Their career as a duo would produce five studio albums and a run of hit singles.
