Big Apple To Big Easy Update
Wednesday September 14, 2005
Tickets went on sale Tuesday (September 13) at Ticketmaster for Madison Square Garden's September 20 hurricane benefit concert, From The Big Apple To The Big Easy. Simon & Garfunkel have been added to the roster of performers, marking their first live appearance since July 2004 when their Old Friends reunion tour ended. Rod Stewart has had to pull out because he is recovering from shoulder surgery.
A simultaneous benefit under the same Big Apple/Big Easy banner is being staged at New York City's Radio City Music Hall. Headliners for that concert include Dave Matthews, Tom Waits, Trio, and Joss Stone. Tickets went on sale Thursday (September 15) through Ticketmaster.
Proceeds from both concerts will go to various hurricane relief agencies. A live pay-per-view broadcast ($19.95) will add even more to the relief proceeds.
