Brian May, Ph.D.

Monday July 30, 2007

Queen guitarist by night, astrophysicist by day?

It's true, rock music may not be rocket science, but Brian May, who put his college career on hold when Queen hit the big time, is about to prove that there's no reason a rock star can't be a card-carrying scholar, too.

Learn more about this saga of sex, drugs and astrophysics.

If any guitarist seems naturally bright enough to have started and then to later on get a Ph. D., it’s Brian May.

As a fellow “Brit” band, I wonder what Spinal Tap would have to say about the bar being raised .

why use the heading “sex, drugs and rock and roll”… that is using sensationalism as Queen were not known for that kind of culture, perhaps that is why Brian May and Roger Taylor can still perform and put on a show at the top of their game and look pretty damn good for their age!!! Compare how they look to any of the Rolling Stones or heck even much younger artists who did get into the drug culture… Matter of fact all the members of Queen had quite advanced degrees before they became more involved in music. Perhaps their brains are the reason they are so successful??

(5) May says:

I LOVE BRIAN MAY! Mock me if you must, but i love him! I have been a Queen fan since god knows when, but only when Brian threw me his Pick last summer, at the Queen musical, We Will Rock You, did i really love him. So now, i can officially say that my hero is a rock star/astro physisist! Thanks Brian!
P.S If by some odd reason you are reading this Brian, I am also the girl who wrote you that story about the star that exploded. I am so happy you enjoyed it!!!
