If this was a radio station instead of a blog, it would be the bottom of the hour, where we scatter the latest pellets of news as if firing them from a shotgun.
- Fleetwood Mac may be having a revival, thanks to Sheryl Crow, avowed fan of (and producer for) Stevie Nicks. Crow says there are definite "plans for collaborating in the future." The Mac pack's last tour was in 2004.
- Van Halen cancels all scheduled concert dates until April 19, but nobody is saying why. Come to think of it, there's really nothing new about that, but I thought I should mention it in case you want to say, "I told you so."
- Rockers often get sidelined with voice problems, but Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry has been benched with a bum knee. He's scheduled for surgery next week (March 18) and at least one show (April 5) has had to be postponed.
- Call it a sign of the times. R.E.M.'s new album will debut ... not on radio, not in retail stores, not even on iTunes. Accelerate will debut on iLike.com, a social networking site. Recently, R.E.M. launched a site on which they posted raw performance footage, and invited visitors to edit their own music video.
- May Pang (who was John Lennon's live-in lover in the mid-70s when Lennon took a break from his marriage to Yoko Ono) has dusted off a box of photos she took during the artist's self-styled "Lost Weekend" (which lasted 18 months) with her and published them in a book appropriately titled, Instamatic Karma.
That's all the news that's fit to blog, for now.So, on with the show!
