Why There Will Never be a Led Zeppelin Reunion

Thursday February 5, 2009
Robert Plant has finally revealed why, as much as he enjoyed playing a gig with former bandmates Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones in 2007, a full blown Led Zeppelin reunion can never be.

"[It's] the disappointment that could be there once you commit to that, and the comparisons to something that was basically fired by youth and a different kind of exuberance to now." Plant finally opened up in an interview with Absolute Radio. Referring to the 1980 death of drummer John Bonham, he said, "The reason that it stopped was because we were incomplete, and we've been incomplete now for 28 years."

Jones, Page, and Bonham's son, Jason, were all set to go ahead without Plant, but that idea has fallen though because they couldn't find a suitable replacement for Plant.

since Plant doesn’t hit those high note anymore I’d rather see a new guy from tribute band to be the front man.

I think Zeppelin should go on without Plant. If he doesn’t want to do it why shouldn’t the others…Jimmy Page, John Paul JOnes, and Jason Bohnom not tour. I’m sure they could find someone to replace plant. I have heard many local guys (NJ) who sound like him and they are just garage bands. The fans want it…Zeppelin want it…so whats the hangup? The guy from Whitesnake alwasys sounded like Plant, the lead singer of The Black Crows also sounds like him….I even heard Motley Crew do Zeppelin covers and were rockin as only the Crew can do. I don’t think its who they get to sing, I think its about the music… I heard them all together and seperatly and it was all good…we….. as in the fans want a new tour of them….so why not take a pition and present it to zeppelin and show them how much we really do want them. I been round classic rock in the 60s, 70s, up to now….Hell even Ozzy could be frontman for Zep….that would be great!!! I’m stil rocking into the year 2009 and am sick of the wishy washy stuff they got out there now. Give us back our classic rock starting with Led Zeppelin!

Hey,

I am a led zep fan forever and I was at their final Montreal concert in the 70’s and I’m still alive, you will never replace Led Zep but I would give have half a nut to see Jimmy perform agian. Wow, never think that you could replace Jimmy or Robert Plant, get a grip on yourself, both would be my Swan Song.
