If you think September's selection of new releases looks pretty tasty, here's a whiff of what more is to come in the next few months.

On October 1, a new studio release from Joan Jett and The Blackhearts. Unvarnished will be "a real band album. Everybody was involved," Jett says in announcing the release. She calls the album her "most autobiographical project." Jett collaborated with Foo Fighters' Dave Grohl on the first single from the album, "Any Weather"

Jett has taken a pass on a reunion with other surviving members of The Runaways, but that hasn't stopped her former band mates, Lita Ford and Cherie Currie from occasionally performing and recording together. Coming soon, a Christmas song, "Let's Rock This Christmas Down" from Ford and Currie.

On October 15, Paul McCartney's next studio album, New will be released. "The record is very varied," McCartney tells BBC. "I worked with four producers and each of them brought something different." Listen to the title song from McCartney's upcoming New album
