In August 1969 Iris Shapiro (she was Iris De Jong back then) was a teenager, living at her family's home on Long Island, attending community college, working in a factory.
She and three friends decided to take a road trip to upstate New York to check out this thing they kept hearing about called the Woodstock Music and Art Fair. Little did she know that she would be helping to make history.
